Flowers and micro-leaves in new “more exciting” Sainsbury’s salads

Sainsbury’s has launched a new premium bagged salad range featuring “on-trend” micro-herbs and edible flowers.
Sweet Crimson Basil Salad, with micro-leaf crimson basil and viola flowers as well as colourful baby leaves;
Aromatic Oriental Salad, with micro-leaf coriander and the oriental herb shiso (Perilla frutescens var. crispa) as well as baby spinach, red batavia lettuce and tatsoi;
Powerful and Punchy Salad, with baby watercress and red chard, young nasturtium leaves and micro-leaf rocket and radish cress.
Sainsbury’s product developer for fresh produce Georgina Lunn said: “This new range of salads helps them to create salads which are full of colour, texture and intriguing flavours using more exciting leaves, micro-herbs and even edible flowers.”
Launched this week, the salads are widely available in store and online, priced at £1.75 per 80g bag.
